Clinical Supervision

Just where you are. That's the place to start. - Pema Chodron

Supervision is an investment of your time, energy, and financial resources.

One of the greatest gifts we can provide our current and future clients is our competence which is why clinical supervision is critical to the Licensure process. Finding the right supervisor is much like finding the right therapist, it is about a good fit. I believe that developing a strong connection and feeling a sense of trust and safety is essential in a supervisory relationship.

My approach is grounded in kindness, honesty, empowerment and collaboration and focuses on the following areas:

  • Strategies to prevent work-related stress and develop healthy coping strategies;

  • Review of client cases with a culturally competent lens;

  • Exploration of evidence-based clinical interventions through collaborative discussion and modeling;

  • Provide theoretical models such as cognitive behavior therapy, strengths-based, solution-focused, motivational interviewing, and crisis intervention;

  • Review of legal and ethical issues within the clinical practice;

  • Explore issues of transference and countertransference;

  • Strategies for good clinical documentation;

  • BBS licensure exam preparation;

  • Professional development by request in my specialty areas.
