Signature Training Topics

Behavior is Communication: Prevention & Intervention

For children, behavior is a communication tool as they are learning how to regulate their emotions and verbally communicated their needs. In this training series, learn how trauma manifests in the behaviors we see, strategies to prevent the escalation of behaviors, ways to manage an escalated behavior in the moment, and how to debrief and repair a relationship after a behavioral incident.

Supporting LGBTQ+ Youth in Schools

Schools can heal or harm, especially for LGBTQ+ youth. In this training you’ll be provided with foundational knowledge about sexual orientation, gender identity, and expression and how to best support queer youth by leveraging their resilience and affirming their identity. Learn the laws that protect queer youth in California schools, tiered interventions, resources, and strategies to support schools in promoting the safety and well-being of LGBTQ+ youth. Finally, ideas on how to navigate ethical dilemmas in states where laws are not on the side queer youth.

Common Mental Health Diagnoses in Youth & School Supports

This training can be geared towards educators that want to understand students with 504s or diagnosed and undiagnosed mental illness and how to support them or for clinicians practicing in schools. Understanding how mental illness presents in schools and learning strategies to support symptoms of anxiety, depression, and ADHD. This training series will equip you with the knowledge and tools you need to support your students.

Burnout Prevention: Strategies to Minimize Work-Related Stress

Staff will learn how to recognize the symptoms of secondary & vicarious trauma, burnout, and compassion fatigue, strategies to build resilience, and come up with an actionable plan to reduce potential burnout and build self-care practices.

Suicide Prevention, Intervention, Postvention

Participants will be provided with the newest research on effective suicide prevention methods, responses, and what to do in the event of a suicide on your campus. This training can be tailored to specific populations based on your need (e.g. administrators, teachers, school social workers, counselors or even caregivers!)

The Heart of Learning: Trauma-Informed Schools

Learn how to create trauma-informed resilience-focused schools and classrooms with an emphasis on resilience. You’ll understand how trauma impacts the brain and learning. Finally, you’ll leave with strategies and tools to implement school-wide or within your own practice as an educator.
